Hypothesis
My hypothesis to the first question is that past economic growth should be a good indicator of future economic growth. I believe that if a country have had an above-average economic growth, then this country is more likely to have an above-average growth in the future as well.
My hypothesis to the second question is that countries in BRIC—Brazil, Russia, India, and China—would have been the top-performers in the past decade. I also hypothesized that the countries with the highest per capita GDP today would have had higher growth rates compared to other countries. According the International Monetary Fund, the ten countries with the highest per capita GDP in 2011 are Luxembourg, Singapore, Norway, Brunei, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, United States, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Austria.
